Which is the best news management script, I have just got cutenews, but can't seem to get it to show news right, doesn't seem to take on the css..but not that keen on it really.

Personally I've always used Fusion News: -

It's not perfect but it has a nice archive facility and is pretty simple to hack.

I've used Fusion myself in the past. Otherwise you could look at using something like Wordpress and implementing it in to your site (depending upon what you're doing, of course).

dongan phpnuke sucks monkey balls and is in no way what i asked for, its a complete cms and not a news management script.

Albino do you have one you've created you fancy sharing.
