I am curious what you think about some of my domains? I have a few different posts, but it seems this is the best spot for a response. I am an educator, so this isn't feeding me. Initially it replaced a trip to the casino! Ive gotten in deeper. Ive sold one domain on Sedo, lovesmiled.com. Any help will be appreciated.

.US domains.US domains
Wow so many domains :( That must be expensive. I counted 151. Renewal fees alone will consume more than $1000/year.

But you should have done more research. Why buy .mobi domains in 2017 ? Why buy new extensions ?
Who is going to proverbs3125.com ? I could register proverbs3124.com or something else that is equally good. For each and every domain you posted there are better alternatives available.
Frankly I don't understand what made you think there could be a buyer for these names.
These names are terrible, you should have bought just one or two instead, but good ones. Quality > quantity.

The best way to start in domaining is to register only a handful of names, and then try and sell them all. That will show you the reality of attempting to make money from domains, which is actually pretty difficult.

All great questions. I do appreciate you taking some time and giving me some feedback. I am guessing you aren't actually looking for an answer, but my lesson plans are done for the week so I have some time!

I am in it for about $3k, so yeah its pricey.
I agree I should have done more research!
Which brings me to the MOBI response . . . You wouldn't believe me if I told you . . . I looked up fitnessgoals and that was an extension available, so I chose that one.
With regards to new extensions I take that to mean other than the .com, at least with what I have? The thoughts went something like this . . . For example, realityporn.directory was created with the idea that as a play on words, now there is a site (potentially) that will be a directory for reality porn. Pornhub.com and pornmd.com are certainly big directories, but they are already taken.
Proverbs3125 is the virtuous woman, so someone looking for a domain about the virtuous woman would be interested, potentially. Proverbs 3124 would not be able to do that.
I didnt actually intend for it to get quite out of control quantity wise, believe me when I say that.

I agree there are some terrible domains on the list. Ive sold one already, which you won't like either, but I only needed one person to like it!! lovesmiled.com

I am hopeful that they aren't ALL terrible. I won't even list what I purchased today, lol!

But seriously, thank you for responding. I am trying to learn on the fly!

Thank you for replying. They are all registered now, so any suggestions? I will guess what your first suggestion is . . . stop buying domains. Any suggestions how to unload them?

wait! you are telling me you have spent 3000 usd total?
i can only see exercise.business that can have potential...

Let them expire and cut losses. Selling domains is much more difficult than people think, even decent .com are hard to sell fast and for a good price.
You just don't buy an arbitrary domain and figure out how to sell it later. You need to do research and pick domains very carefully if you want to make sales.
The mere fact that these domains were available more than 20 years after the launch of the commercial Internet means that nobody would register them for $10.

Yes, I agree with kate. Cut your loses and try again after research.

Honestly, all are fairly bad, with the few that are not incredibly terrible.
Nearly all are extremely bad and will never sell.

There's an outside chance with a few, but they won't fetch much and given the others won't sell, ever, you likely won't get your full investment money back. If your $3K investment means nothing to you then fine, have fun. If you actually want to make money, then you must stop buying, right now, and spend 3-4 months reading and learning the domain name market and trade.

The below are not too bad and I could see a sale, but they're not widely sought after, as such your buyer pool is greatly limited and so a sale is likely a few years away.
AcceptDebt.com
EternalGoals.com
FindGayLove.com
ManufacturingGoals.com
AreYouLoved.com
MyContemplations.com

This one is most likely a copyright problem, get rid of it:
drinkbudweiser.com

ALL the others are incredibly bad names which no-one wants to buy. At a quick glance, nearly all I could go hand reg a much better similar one to yours for $10.

Honestly, read and learn about domaining, as all you'll do is buy more terrible names which you'll never sell, not for $20.
But given your huge spending spree, I feel you're not going to stop and listen. Good luck tho :)

Additionally, look at the names I've not mentioned, pick 1 or 2 and say why you think they're worth money to someone - why someone will buy them and what they would use them for. I honestly bet you can't for any of the ones I've not mentioned :)

In my opinion you wasted a lot of good money. For how much did you sell lovesmiled.com ?

Suggestion: stay away from adult names e.g f*ckit.co, names like n***a.xyz, typos like willliam.com instead of william.com. A name like william.com would cover all your costs and some :)

Stick to names that companies (for startups / rebranding / expansion / introducing new product) or individuals or investors want (in case you wish to liquidate)

Welcome to NamePros and Good luck

Yes roughly 3k.

This is a good point. I jumped in with both feet. I will probably let a number of them expire when its time if I am unable to sell them.

Order of Operations:

1. Drop drinkbudweiser.com immediately.
2. If you've bought these recently, check to see if the registrar has a refund policy within X days and use it.
3. Set all the autorenews to off.
4. Put them on every platform for sale.
5. Wait. The quality of the names isn't worth marketing. You'll just be throwing away whatever your time is worth along with the $3000 domaining lesson you just learned.

Thank you for your candor. I will put any future purchases on hold, domain wise! I think the fact that it took 3 months to do, it did not feel like a big spending spree. Nevertheless, it appears to be one!

With regards to drinkbudweiser . . . there is findyourhonda, collegehunks, and a few micro breweries that have potential trademark issues. At this point since I see the portfolio as a loss, getting anything from them is a plus! So the reality is budweiser, for example, could purchase the domain from me for less than any litigation would cost! Thankfully big businesses care about bottom lines and not emotions.

If you're a newbie you can at least run a smell test that goes like this:
  • do not register a domain name that you couldn't use in real life, for a real business. Not just some casual blog, but a critical website supporting a real-life business.
  • the domain should have a clear purpose and be commercially viable
  • stay away from weak extensions
  • obviously do not register names that incorporate famous trademarks
  • do not register domains names that are negative, derogative or insulting
  • do not register domains names that you wouldn't be proud to put on a business card
  • ask yourself why somebody would want to buy your domains ? Would you buy your own domain names for $,$$$ or even $$$ ? Sales are not going to happen if people can find domain names that are unregistered and better than yours.

The three of those guys are athletes and if they continue on their path may play in the NFL soon.

mohamadalarefe.com This guy has top 100 twitter followers. I was surprised to see his name available. Ironically, after purchasing it I did some research. Allegedly has ties to ISIS, so . . .

What will they be worth? If I were one of those athletes, potential branding opps for them . . . I don't see why they couldn't fetch a few grand each.

Admittedly, I am trying to see the best possible scenario. So this isn't on the list bc I purchased it today. I saw gr8fx.com sold for $18k on Sedo. So I was curious about domains like that. I don't know why gr8fx.com sold for multiple thousands. But I thought I see domains like that selling for comparable money, take another chance. So I bought gr8k.com gr8dx.com gr8fm.com gr8h8.com Are those all as bad as the others in your opinion?
