Hey guys,

I'm creating a new website and want the new website to be very search-engine friendly and optimized, as well as very functional. I will be using a lot of advanced features in my pages and thus I either need SSI using .shtml (I would change my .htaccess to show .shtml as .html) or I could use php pages for all my site's pages.

My question is... are there any draw backs as far as SEO/functionality is concerned with using PHP pages as opposed to SSI pages that are read by apache as the standard .html? I think I could do a lot if all my pages are .php. Will this cause headaches for my search engine SERPs? I thought you guys would know best. Thanks for the help!

As far as I know, neither will affect how you are indexed in search engines etc.

I am a fan of php myself, but I don't think it matters either way.

It shouldn't matter either way, both SSI and PHP are server side languages, so they're both interpreted and finished with well before the browser/spider ever sees it, so neither should matter.
