New TLD's: Opinions?

Hi,

haven't posted here at NP for a while, but was wondering what you all think about the new TLD's. That this will have at least a little impact on the domain business is obvious. The problem is that we dont know what extensions will actually become recognizable and gain market traction.

Consumers will be confused at first. But thanks to TV commercials everyone knows there are other extensions like .TV

I still believe that .com will be the way to go for some time.

Will there be a prelaunch for some extensions? I only found those watchlists, but nothing more.

only those looking to give away their cash, will be watching the watch lists


especially the poor newbs

i feel sorry for them as they have the most to loose


without much knowledge and the overbearing hype that will come soon

they will be the prime victims


they'll be using google keyword tool for terms to stick with extensions that don't fit


it will be a mess, and the appraisal section will be full of it, so watch where you walk...or you may get some on your shoes

Buy a big box of popcorn and enjoy the show, however i must admit i wouldn't mind owning www.downloads.music. The law of averages says a few will work i guess
