Hi all,
I've gone and done it again, and looking for some peer reviews

I've setup http://www.php.im/

It's using Vbulletin, with the VBseo mod, and a couple of other mods that i felt that would fit the forums well, like the thank you hack, any suggestions or comments would be greatly welcomed, php programming is something i enjoy greatly, and this is a community i wish to take all the way to the top.

You are facing a big niche here , the php forums niche is verry big . If you want to succed with your forums, you need to invest something in ppc , adwords etc . The extension isn`t that good but the short url makes it good . About the design i don`t have much to say because it`s non-unique vbulletin skin . The structure of the forums is good for the start. Now you have to struggle to get members . Also an plus to your forums will be if you get php gurus to sign in .

Good luck with it.

Good design. Well, you can do some free publicity by participating in other PHP related forums or host some php scripts on your website which you can advertise in other sites such as hotscripts.com

Design looks smooth.
Increase the size of your logo a bit more. Fill the sponsor box with an ad, even if it's only your own ad, at least you'll have something in there.
Get some content in your categories. Nothing is as bad as empty forum categories for the user that either wants to ask a question or provide an answer.

Other than that, it's a good start, now the real work starts.

I like the layout too...very clean but great use of gradients and rounded corners and whatnot...did you make it yourself or is this just a template? Either way, it looks good :)

it may be worthwhile to list in some directories just to build up some easy link backs and maybe pull in users too. I know immediately offhand that http://www.codango.com/ has a PHP section that will take in community sites - and specifically forums. May be a good way to start getting your site out there...

without a doubt - the hardest part starts now!

good luck!

It's a template from vb skinworks, after spending a bit of cash on vb and vbseo, i didn't have enough spare to get a fully custom one done :(, but i belive this template does fit into the feel of what i wish project to members (and guests).

Thanks mike, setting up sites for me always seems to be the easy bit, but this is something i am really interested in on a personal level, so i will make this into something that will hopefully be a great resource for others to use in the long run.

I was waiting for a few review to see if there was any other suggestions or feedback to improve the site before i started to advertise the site =)

if there is anyother feedback or suggestions, please type them in !

no problem!

I think it seems pretty solid...your category selection / organization seems great and all...I've got nothing for you right now. Good luck!

Not bad. I like your template. The colors are nice. You definitly need a better logo.
Would you be interested in adding my webmaster forum in the Related Sites column on the left. It looks pretty empty as it stands right now.
