A "Domain Appraisal" is when some one puts an approximate value to a domain name. So if you go to
http://namepros.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 , you'll see that you can post your domain there and fellow members will give it a value that they think is appropriate.
As for the NP$, it's the forum's currency. By posting, you can get NP$ or NameBucks as they're 'officially' referred to. With NP$, you can buy items at the NP Store
