I am putting together a group to start a national internet radio station.

SERIOUS collaborators wanted.

Must have a love of music.

Station will be CHR/Rhythmic (Pop, Top 40, Rock, Hip Hop & R&B)

There are a lot of cool things happening and we need serious people who are interested in making a change in the music biz.

You must be dedicated and bring something to the table that is of use.

Please note, I am ONLY looking for people who believe in making success a habit. I have a proven track record with many ventures in business, especially in the music business. Our studios will be based in one of my offices in Clearwater, Florida USA, but the station itself will have a national focus and a global reach.

Yes.

We are taking a different approach to advertising, because most people do not like it.

There will be no commercials in the regular sense on the air. (i.e. 30 or 60 second spots)

bUT OUR Radio personalities will give sponsors little blurbs for sponsoring our contests.

We will have some ads on the site, but they will all be "recommended" companies. So it has to fit with the audience and we have to feel its worth something to them. Also there will be category exclusive, so if there is a web host -there will only be one. not 30

This ensures we do not have any and everything, a lot of junk or things that our audience will find irrelevant. This means that response to "ads" will be greater.

I saw your site is a joke site, and pretty international, so that fits.

Online ads on the site will be cheap (min $100) and sold directly through the station. (hundreds of dollars)

On -air promotions will be more expensive (min $1000) and will require sponsorship of a contest, so that willbe sold as part of a package from a separate company. (thousands or 10s of thousands of dollars) like our $25,000 credit card payoff. or our crack the code for a new car contest.

Other options include email list and phone list (we will be sending automated messages to peoples telephones who sign up for our promos)

just a few points I would like to make.


1) What is going to make people want to listen to this station?
There are many internet stations (top 40, hip hop)capable of streaming to 10s of thousand of users at a time. Why would they switch to your stream/station.

2) Have you fully though about the bandwith usage involved in such a venture? Assuming you were using a streaming software such as shoutcast(not much variation in othe software) to stream to a audience of 1000 constant listeners a month at 128k audio you would consume roughly 316,406.250 Gbyte of bandwith (a month ) 3,849,609.375 Gbyte(s) (yearly)

3)The licensing fees to artists/label must be thru the roof to use their works.

4)Your advertising approch is not different then many streaming stations now. Many have decided on no commercials and let the djs plug advertisers instead. Even satelite radio does this.

Please understand im not debating your business skills by any means. Im sure you have though all of this thru fully or you would not be moving forward with it .

I will design it for 3 spots of 30 second advertising each day for 1 month (30 days, 30*3 = 90 spots total. Also I'd like to be a part time DJ as I have a pretty neat collection of uncopywritten trance music which is great for like 3 hours. I can broadcast on weekends. I would like to also be the manager of advertising unit, as in managing station funds between advertisiment, profit, and other expenses, as I have previous experience in this.
