domain new domainer with 23 names

ok so i'm new and i kinda went on a buying spree from the excitement of getting started domaining. i bought these 23 domains and parked them at godaddy where i bought them. my stratagy from the beginning was to search for new technologies and see if the domains were available. this proved to be very difficult. i now see that maybe saving the money and buying a single good domain from tdnam or sedo might be a better course. although i do feel some of these could have value in the near future. they have been parked for a week now and from one (wlanequip.com) i received .25. i know thats not much but it did bring a smile to my face...lol.

also apart from giving your opinion could you also advise on what ones you feel would work best being developed.

I'm afraid I don't any value in these domains. If GoDaddy supports it I suggest getting a refund and wait a bit longer for a better domain to pop up.

Like yourself I'm new to this business too but I already have a pretty decent portfolio registering about the same number of domains total you have in your "buying spree".

It's all about patience (if you want to register them instead of buying from other domainers).

Good luck and yes you can put Google Adsense on your websites as long as you have web space available.

This one is ok. I think touch screens are going to be very popular in the next few years. It's a little long but if you put up an good info website now, in six months to a year it will have enough traffic you should be able to monetize the website with adsense.

You have done what almost every new domainer does, including myself. All your domains are worthless. You have spend around 160-180 USD and that money isn't going to come back.

Consider this a lesson learnt and move on. If you start listening now you have a some chance to recover your loses. Otherwise you will end up losing 1000 USD before you admit you can't go on anymore like that.

my golden rules for domain newbies:
1. Don't register any domains for the first 4 months.
2. Buy domains from other domainers (here at namepros), from domain aftermarked (sedo.com, afternic.com) or from drop catchers (snapnames.com, tdnam.com).
3. Buy only .com domains.
4. Buy only a .com if the .net, .org, and .co.uk is registered.
5. Don't spend more than 800 usd or less than 60 usd per name.
6. Read a lot.

I don't agree with points 1, 4 and 5.

1. Don't register any domains for the first 4 months.
In my first 4 months I made about low/mid $xxx. I agree with not taking risks the first 4 months. So how to buy riskfree domains? Like MarcelProust says, only register .com's and only when the .net and .org are taken. Also keep in mind the fact the .net and .org are taken doesn't automatically mean the .com has value but does lower the risk it hasn't.

I agree with this the first 4 months or so. Exceptions include domains related to newly released products or something which may become a huge market. I registerd E.g. I registered iPhoneHelp.com a couple of months ago when all other extensions were still available.

When buying domains I agree. However, I made a pretty decent profit just by registering new domains. So I suggest trying that first before buying domains at all.
