Just ran across this new domaining tool.
Wanna an easy way to highlight text in your web browser and search to see if the domain is available?

This Firefox extension does just that.
The extension lets you perform one click domain searches at your registrar of choice using the selected text in your browser window.

1. Highlight the text you want to look up.
2. Right-click and select "domain lookup"

The extension will normalize the text, removing spaces and other illegal characters etc, then launch a new tab/window to search for the domain at your favourite registrar.

3. Choose registrar and search. That's it.

Enjoy.

Nice tool . Tried it out. Just the thing for domain addicts.
But the shortcut key(ctrl+shift+d) leads to bookmarks or am I using it incorrectly?

Great idea. I've always wanted to develop a similar extension. Now I'll just have to go one step further and make an extension that automatically searches every domain at the current page to see if it's available. There's already an external program that does this called extractomatic, however, it isn't too reliable and only works with internet explorer.

Domain Research Tool allows you to search google/yahoo for keywords and it builds lists of domain names from the results so you can run it through its metrics. One again, however, a real-time FF extension that highlighted domains and possibly even checked for pagerank would be great.

Quick...someone....steal my idea!

Thanks for the kind words on my extension. If you've any feedback on registrars you'd like added etc, I'd love to hear it.

RegFee - Nice idea. I'll put it on my 'to investigate' list for the next version, if you're not going to do it ;)

I've actually got the thing harvesting domains right now, just trying to figure out how I'm going to store the names and eliminate duplicates. Maybe we can chat sometime :)

Anyone else having an issue with this Add-on? Maybe it's an issue with the affiliate id that is used when it does a look up? Worked for a few days & now it just will not display the page.

NotLikeYou, Moniker have been intermittent problems with the links timing out. Appears to be resolved now. Other registrars should be ok - please let me know if you're having problems elsewhere.
