New Blog - Need Feedback

Hey Everyone,

I am still very new to domaining and web development. I just made a new blog recently and I wanted your opinions on it. The website is PCHelpJournal.com. The website shows anyone how to troubleshoot their PC, tips and tricks, freeware, and they can ask me on troubleshooting. Right now, I am keeping all the content on my blogs short with only a couple sentences with my youtube videos or screenshots. Let me know what you guys think about the concept and the content of the website. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Your blog is very interesting. I've been dealing with computers a lot, and this contains tons of the little tips I like to give to friends and family. It's a nice resource. Keep adding good, interesting content.

The few ideas I can offer involve adding a voluntary email subscription link, so that you can update loyal readers via email instead of RSS and open up marketing options later.

To increase credibility and make your blog more memorable, get a custom logo made that users will see every time they visit to see your tips.

As a revenue generating expansion, you could apply for affiliate programs with computer parts suppliers and recommend good deals on helpful software, or hardware. Things everyday computer users who read your blog would be interested it, such as flash drives, blu ray drives, antivirus programs, etc. I don't feel that expanding your blog to encompass affiliate marketing would be turning your back on your users since you already have a freeware section.

Thank you so much for responding. You gave me some great ideas and I will try to implement them. As for the email subscription, can you point me to the direction where I can get it onto my website? Where should I begin to look for affiliate advertisements? I will start googling.

After 5 hours or so, I was able to implement the newsletter subscription. It works but I will have to play around with it to get it the way I want it.

Do you have any recommendations for the affiliate programs to use?

Your blog is very interesting There is very good content but not modern design. Try to fix it.

I like your character logo: Cute and it evokes a sense of honesty. The overall color scheme can be improved upon. If you beef up your design and add more great content - you'll have a killer blog.

Thanks Andr and Boss da Vinci for your feedback. I am having my girlfriend design a logo and a banner for the website. It's a wordpress theme so I guess I'll be playing around with the CSS to change up the color scheme. Again, thanks for the responses. I greatly appreciate the responses.

I recommend signing up for feedburner. Feedburner shows you detailed information and statistics on your site’s feed and it can help you publicize your feeds as well. http://feedburner.google.com

For affiliate marketing ,
Commission Junction - A Global Leader in Affiliate Marketing, Online Advertising and Search Engine Marketing , it has many information on how to start affiliate marketing. Great for starters.

It's been a little bit over a month and I wanted you guys to see the changes I made. I incorporated a logo onto the site and added more content. Also, added widgets to the sidebar.
