I just rec'd an email from NetworkSolutions.. it's from their "Certified Offer Services" division. www.CertifiedOfferService.com
Apparently someone has made an offer on one of my domains. The domain is "not" registered with Network Solutions however..

Has anyone ever sold a name through this service? It's a $100 offer on this domain of mine.. I'de sell it for that price for sure. Just curious if anyone's sold a name through this service? If so, what are the fee's to the seller?

Thankyou

I've sold a name this way in the recent past, for $4,000. I was skeptical at first, but the transaction was smooth and painless. There is NO cost to the seller. The buyer pays all transaction fees. NetSol will send you a check in the mail. They say 4 to 6 weeks (I think), but I got my check in less than a week. Good luck!

Gene

P.S. You will be required to agree to transfer the name to Network Solutions before they can complete the transaction. But again, there is no cost to you.

Thankyou Gene, for sharing this great story.. appreciate your post. Did the buyer initiate a $4000 offer upfront.. initially.. or did you counter offer his offer with a $4000 buy it now price? Just curious, as it reads that the buyer can open the trans. with a minimal $100 offer. Then the seller can accept or counter offer.
Just curious if your buyer initially offered the $4K?
Congratulations.. great sell!

Actually, the buyer first offered $200 (the name was ExpressDialup.com). I counter-offered with an embarassingly high price because I wanted to keep the domain originally. About a month went buy and they offered the $4,000. I accepted :sold:

Personally I love the certified offer service idea, and their fees are low compared to Sedo's comparable service. The one drawback is having to wait so long for the $, and the TOS seem to provide little protection in case of fraudulent instrument (stolen card, etc.) for the seller, but the idea and implementation seems ok so far.
