666 threads ... A bit ominous..

Anyway , NS are doing a temporary 'transfer domains into them for free ' . With a FREE year !

Sounds fantastic.

Too good to be true , in fact.

I have to ask.. Is this legit ?
Bascially, is there a catch ?
I think I have, like, one or two names there only.
But have never taken any real notice of them or their services.

For those of you with more experience of them.. Does this indeed sound like a good deal !

Cheers

Ade

This was discussed and brought up by RJ last week.

Netsol is notorious for manking transfer-outs difficult, so be aware that you may have difficulty in this regard. Also, they may charge you a 'transfer out' fee, so make sure to read all the fine print.

I would be wary of the promotion. From experience they use tactics to purposely delay/avoid the transfer of names. It is not worth trouble from my view.

Hi there!
I won't trust too much from promotions that are offered by NetSol. As armstrong has pointed out, it may be difficult for you to move out your domain name once it is with NetSol.

I will not go for Netsol and risk the after problems.

I really dpn't like Netsol they are making me jump through many hoops just to transfer my name to enom, I called them and they told me that they usually put a register lock on all outgoing "premium" names in the name of security.

terrible tatics imho best bet is to stay away from netsol when ever possible

i used netsol for a transfer for two domains i got for a $1 and were nearing expiration. they were useless so i am giving them a try. no loss for me

I think it's a good way to keep names that are about to expire, and you don't plan to renew. I'm not sure how their push system works but from what I've heard...it's not too good!

no problem with the push ill just use the domains for a year to get redirections then i can end up reregistering with another registrar if i want when they expire

Cheers Guys

I will just test them out with a dozen 'soon to expire names' as suggested....

When I read that promotion, I read it as free transfer and free year. But my guess is that you need to pay $35 for at least the first year and they throw in an additional free year.

Nice little update guys I have currently transferred about 200 or so names with Networksolutions.

And I have to say it's actually not bad

I'm also a VIP customer now. and have my own dedicated service line. and customer help is surprisingly very good.

and you can create new accounts to make free pushes which is nice for us resellers. (that was a Huge concern for me) so if you have any that are dropping in the next month or so or are at such a crappy regristrar (dotregister, stargate, soem would say godaddy, dotster.etc. pull them anyway) at the very least you get an extra year piece of mind:)

so far Netsol has really surprised me and gets a B-

I would recomend transfering at least your names with 3 months or less to go :)

good luck guys :)

Isn't it a bit like transferring to the devil though?

I am staying far away from their offer... all I've ever heard is bad things about NS...

Their free transfer in promo is so far legit. You don't pay anything except if you want to go beyond their free 1 year.

As for transferring out, I'd suggest you do it at least 1 1/2 months before the domain expires. They can actually confirm it for you if you call them and they verify your identity as the main contact of the domain/s in question.
