Uncoded: http://s3.exoload.com/606/1149971349.png
Coded: http://www.23kb.com/ja2/

I started the layout this morning, and finished it a couple of minutes ago. Anyway, please let me know what you think of it. It's designed to be the homepage for a network of sites I'm currently making (23kb). It's the first layout I've made in a long time, but I think that it is better than my others. When it is coded it will be quite a bit larger than the screenshot. The image is only 600x600 so I could it on my screen whilst I was designing it.
Comments/critisism would be appreciated.
Thanks :)

Update: Added a link to the coded version. Minor updates will be made progressively. Please leave feedback though, and thanks again.

I got to say I like the nice and simple design!

Colours are nice, especially the green border, and you're not floating around with several "fancy" fonts as some people do on their pages. That just distracts the visitors. Just one question, will the border be extended to the end of the screen, or is it gonna be chopped of after a certain lenght, because I think it would be nice if the page isn't in any way framed colourwise?

Not too bad. In my opinion, the banner could be improved on. It seems pretty simple.
Also, I'm not fond of the colour of the login and password box on the top right. It would look better white IMO.

Other then that, looks very nice and professional.

Good luck with it.

Thank you for both of your comments, especially with the suggestions :)
adriansthlm, the top banner will stretch across the whole of the page (like the one here), and the content below will be fluid, meaning the widths of the DIVs will be in percentages rather than pixels, so the layout resizes itself depending on the screen resolution. I think that is what you were asking, if not, please let me know ;)
Cooper, I'll try the input boxes in white, and see what it looks like. Didn't think of that before.
Thanks for the suggestions and comments,
Harry.

Is it finished? I notice some features on the uncoded are gone in coded. Features I prefered.

Edit: But hey, I really like it. You're very good with CSS.

I like the simplicity in it. Would be interesting to see the coded bit using the log-in field on the right, though. :)

Thank you Chris, I really appreciated that comment :)
It's not entirely finished yet, I will be adding the login form and adverts once I get back onto my main computer.
Thanks again for the comments,
Harry.

Edit: Thanks Gene, I'm glad you like it :)
I will be adding the login area, I just need to get back to my main PC first ;)

Gosh, this design has been on my mind all morning. It's so simple, and I've been looking over the CSS. How long did it take you to make that? How long have you been doing CSS work? Know of any tutorials ?

Thanks, both of you, I really appreciate the comments :)
ChrisW, I've been coding layouts and using CSS for almost a year now. As for tutorials, if I ever get stuck, I usually look on w3schools for the value I'm after.
