Nelson Mandela Grandson Fights to Move Family Burial Plot to Future Tourist Attraction
http://abcnews.go.com/International...hts-move-family-burial-plot/story?id=19552819

I hope this doesnt get ugly.
After all this man has done for humanity, I'd hate to see this turn into a circus.

Peace,
Cy

This circus started a few years ago... it's just getting worse as Madiba is close to leaving us.

Mandela's eldest daughter has been trying to gain control of the trust set up to handle Mandela's income from sales of art and images

The Mandela family will do whatever they can to make money off of Mandela's fame, because of their greed

Mandela will turn 95 in two weeks time, so it doesn't surprise me that they will wait for his birthday, then turn the machine off and let him go rest in peace.

However, I have a feeling that he won't be able to RIP in his grave for a while, due to the family fighting over his name, his estate and the trust.

The article on the link below gives a much clearer picture and details about the bickering, fighting and greed going on in the Mandela family, just waiting for him to die:

The only one that appears to be genuinely defending his legacy for the right reasons, is his present wife, Graça Machel. The rest are behaving like vultures.

Former S.African president confident of Mandela's recovery

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Former South African president Thabo Mbeki said on Saturday he was confident his predecessor Nelson Mandela's health would improve and the ailing anti-apartheid hero would be released to recuperate at home.

"I know the doctors who are working with him are very good people, very good doctors and are doing an excellent job. I am quite certain that one of these days Madiba will go back home," national broadcaster SABC reported Mbeki as saying.

"What the government has been saying, that his condition is critical but stable, is correct, that one of these days the doctors will agree that he can go and stay at home rather than in hospital."

Mandela, also known by his clan name Madiba, turns 95 next week. He has been in hospital since June 8 for a recurring lung infection that has led to four hospital stays in the past six months.

Mandela's wife Graca Machel told local eNCA news he was showing signs of improvement.

"He continues to respond positively to treatment. I would say that today I am less anxious than I was a week ago," she said.

Mandela was elected president of a multiracial South Africa in 1994, four years after being released from prison.

Unfortunately, it's going to be a zoo. Too bad his integrity didn't pass on to some family members.

On the other hand, many people might want something to remember him by.

Not really sure I'd believe this prediction, especially coming from Thabo Mbeki, the former South African President, who instituted policies starting in the early 2000s denying citizens in South Africa, life-saving anti-HIV drugs. Even as the country’s government confirmed that 1 in 10 South Africans was HIV-positive, Mbeki adhered to long-since discredited claims that the virus was not the cause of AIDS.

During Mbeki’s rule, South Africa’s health minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, told patients to avoid drug therapies from the West and to rely instead on unsupported remedies including garlic and beetroot to help treat AIDS. Such policies may have cost 365,000 South African lives, according to a study by Harvard researchers

As you have probably noticed by now, the statements to the press about Mandela's condition come only from some members of his family or by politicians, but none from the doctors

I have been putting together 3 puters that I built out of cannibalized parts and today I'm taking them down to a place that will distribute them free to families with kids that cant afford them. They arent the fastest, cant really get into heavy grfx, but they will run kids learning proggys as well as surf.

Thats my 67 minutes, even tho I've been doing this for years. ;)

Zuma's office denies reports Nelson Mandela home from hospital
http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/31/world/africa/nelson-mandela-home

Does anyone else find it odd that all the news comes from the govt and not directly from the doctors?

SA is in turmoil....

Peace,
Cy

Coming from S. Africa, it does not surprise me at all. In fact I mention this odd fact on my post #7, last paragraph.

The South African presidency is playing a game and using Mandela as their trump card and for their own political agenda.

If Mandela was in a critical condition he wouldn't have been discharged from hospital. This statement to me sounds like that of someone who has made the decision to die at home, that is... if he is still alive.

On the news they show an ambulance leaving hospital and then entering his home, but that doesn't prove anything.

Mandela remains ill, can't speak, Winnie says

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — South Africa's former president, Nelson Mandela, remains "quite ill" and unable to speak because of tubes that are keeping his lungs clear of fluid, though he is relaxed, his former wife told a South African newspaper.

"He remains very sensitive to any germs, so he has to be kept literally sterile. The bedroom there (in his suburban Johannesburg home) is like an ICU ward," Winnie Madikizela-Mandela told the Sunday Independent. "He is 95 years old and it is difficult for him, because of all the tubes that are in his mouth to clear the (fluid from his) lungs, and prevent an infection recurring." Because of those tubes, she said, he communicates through his face.

"But the doctors have told us they hope he will be able to recover his voice," she said, adding that he is being treated by 22 doctors at his home.

Mandela's former wife shot down reports that the former anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace prize winner was on life support.

"I have heard this nonsense that he is on life support. He is not," she told the newspaper. When asked if he was peaceful, she said, "Very. When he is very relaxed, he is fine," adding that it helps he is at his home, an environment that he recognizes.

Mandela has been in intensive medical care at his Johannesburg home since being discharged on Sept. 1 after nearly three months in a hospital for a recurring lung infection.

Madikizela-Mandela's comments come days before the release of the film based on Mandela's autobiography "Long Walk to Freedom" and which stars British actor Idris Elba. Madikizela-Mandela, 77, published a book of her prison diaries earlier this year entitled "491 Days: Prisoner number 1323/69."

"Of course, I wish he could read the book, but I really wish he could see the film," she said.

Madikizela-Mandela and Mandela divorced in 1996.

Mandela served a single five-year term as president of South Africa and afterward he focused on charitable causes, including the fight against HIV/AIDS. He withdrew from public life years ago. Mandela's last public appearance was in 2010 at the World Cup soccer tournament, which was hosted by South Africa. At that time, bundled against the cold, he waved but did not speak to the stadium full of fans.

Not the best news, but not the worst, either.

Peace,
Cy

D-: 22 doctors at his home. D-: Even for a former President, I think that's going a bit too far. It's more than obvious that Mandela is gravely ill and cannot make it without the help of all the machines he is hooked up to. He should be allowed to pass away with dignity, instead of being used by the Mandela Clan and the ANC (Government Party) for their own benefit.

Graça Machel, his present legal spouse is the only one that has shown some dignity.

22 doctors could do a lot of good to a lot of people in need of medical assistance.
