What do you guys think of this domain name? The Ni**a ( an ignorant person) word is an offensive word for black people. Before black people were called african american they were called negro ( Black in spanish). When a person hears negro life i think the first thing that comes to mind is history. I think this domain fits the extension i would appreciate opinions/ideas....

As I said above, he should go to brooklyn (or compton/harlem etc) and approach the several thousand potential buyers. He should prepare a pitch first. Something like, "Hey negroes, there are so many things dear to us, but nothing is more dearer to us than life, you know what I'm saying. So why don't you guys get Negro dot Life for a one time fee of $3999 only. Think of all the things you can do with it."

Something like that.

Forget racism it's a big condescending. It sort of potrays that them and us mentally. like people of that ethnic origin have a different life. I hope that Explains why it should be dropped.

. I do appreciate your thoughts and opinions... I am not Racist. I know about Thug.Life ( i tryed registering it and it was taken). Been to Compton Brooklyn N alot places unheard of in black communities where they bang 24/7.. I know what it means to be black..I been black 32 years.. I regged this domain because I was thinkn of the history of black folk.. I wasn't a slave but my ancestors were.The Nergo.Life is part of my history/ black history. I know Even growing up at church when we had the black history programs they would sing what the call "ole negro spirituals" if you watched that Tyler Perry movie Witness Protection Madea makes mention of Negro Spirituals. So for anybody that maybe had the idea I regged it for the wrong reasons, I didn't.. I'm glad you guys have commented and hinted at and just flat out said why you felt it wasn't a good domain..I really appreciate it..it allows me to see and consider other points of view and that way I can get a better understanding

Imagine if you owned Hitler.com. It's a name that everyone on earth knows and by virtue it has some value. But what's the best that can happen by owning it? No end user can prosper using it, prospectors see it and think "why does he own that?", and anyone who buys it would be faced with similar ridicule. I like your idea of a black history website and I could see you also being able to sell things like art and photography done by black artists, etc. It would make for a good niche site.

I don't use the word Ni**a when I'm talking to anybody but I know people who do from all different races and some are my friends. I personally don't like to use that particular word.. But each to they own.. Cuz it don't bother me when other folk use it..thts their business.. They look at it like saying "What up Bruh" when it comes from another black person or one of the friends from another race.. Like u said it's how you use it. I have a brother whose dad is white. When we were young people thought my grandmother was baby sitting for a white lady. But he says No**a all the time..his Nick name was white boy growing up.I was just thinking of the history behind black folk and the idea u listed is a good one.thanks for your point of view..

Some in my family think I am pissing away my talents teaching kids that could care less, are disrespectful, and will amount to nothing. Ironically, not as a savior, but as one who cares the reality is the educational system which I am a part of may be the best hope for a better life for my students. I think that most of the people on NamePros are opportunists that want to make money. I would like to be myself! My family heritage is Jewish. So being Jewish and valuing social justice will put me at odds with some people. That is okay, I try not to take things too seriously!

I am surprised at the response you have gotten. I think that in conjunction with a university, movement (NAACP or BLM), community, black owned businesses, or general education you could have found a niche.

I do agree that just like many on this board jumped to conclusions, you will have to overcome those objections. A sponsor for a show called negrolife, well I am sure they will have to be convinced before jumping on board. I think that a network like BET could pull it off. I think listing negro.life on SEDO and expecting offers will be tough to come by.

I watched a movie that's called The Book of Negro's.. This domain could even one day be a movie title..thanks for your input and thats wonderful that you have chosen a profession like the one you have.... It feels good to know you've changed even one person's life. Ppl don't forget other ppl who help the along the way. I have never forgotten the teachers that put forth that extra effort for me.. They weren't just there teaching me they actually cared and it showed.. It made a difference.
