I think that the menu on my site www.roadbusters.com is extremely bland and plain. I can't think of any ideas for it though.

If you could help me out by pointing me in the right "direction" for redesigning the menu, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks
Tom

Hey PoorDoggie try swapping text for images? It gives it more depth to it and also adds a bit of fun to the site. You could maybe get it flashed aswell a bit of animation. Always makes it look lively and entertaining.

DEFINITELY get rid of those 2 red lines on the left side. It just throws you off. I would either put a navigation table there or adspace. Anything!

The whole design need to correct and consistency is required. Make you form text area as flat, which are like 3D.

They are racing stripes! :o lol... I was thining about running them up the middle of the site, and making the wider, rather than having them at the side... any ideas?

No need for images on the menu, css would do the trick, some nice rollovers

You could have it so the background changed colors. On some sites you see that the they are almost like tabs and when hovering the tab changes to the secondary or tritiary color. That might be something to look into.

I have changed it now, so that it is more like the vbulletin style (ok... so I kinda ripped off the vbulletin nav bar).

However... I want to make the background change color. When logged in, a user can change the color of the site (well... all the red bits anyway). At the moment though, you can only change blocks of one color. Is there any way of having a php "image" where I can make a block of color, and then overlay a gradient, basically in effect ending up with the background to the navigation bar?

Thanks
Tom

thought I wouldn't start a new topic and all, but the header dosen't seem to work in iexplorer. The header is broken in the middle ish, where I have the background image for the text "the car enthusiast's community". Please feel free to "view source" and see if you can tell.

thanks
Tom
