Hi Friend,

I have no domain selling experiences before, but I really want to know: generally speaking, can a domain seller (I) directly contact an end user company that does business that is related with my domain, and ask them if they have interest in my domain?

Many thanks for advice!

David

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

In general, you certainly can.
Common caveats apply. (Names with their TM would evidence bad faith on your part, etc.).

Many thanks to Allan and Michael for helpful advice!

Just come back, sorry to reply late.

These days are my first time trying to sell some of my domains, and I do feel it's very hard to get active domain-sale responses, and it's very hard to sell domains out at reasonable prices. These days I hung around several domain sale boards like Namepros here and saw many domain sale posts, feeling much more individual guys want to sell than those want to buy. Maybe it's a normal situation in domain sale market.

Do you know: are there any business companies who come to the domain sale boards like here often?

Many thanks for more advice!

David

Haha! BestBusinessDomains, it's refreshing to read a post from, (as you stated), someone who is relatively new to domain name marketing and, I must say, you've posed a question that many of us who have been around a bit longer would like to have a more thorough answer to. The short answer, from my own experience is "Yes". Just how many and how often do they drop in? That is difficult to say. I have received inquiries from a couple of members and was able to ascertain/surmise, (through clues and googling- I have the same access to member contact info as everyone else), that they were hooked up w/ large, *non* domain marketing/dev outfits. However, they were looking for names at wholesale pricing, so their MOA was no different from that of a reseller/dev.

:hi: Are there any members or visitors, who are not resellers or developers, who are reading this and who would be willing to share their level of NP participation and their viewing habits?? :D

Yea, I'm a new comer. I know the domains sale market is getting bigger and bigger so fast 'cause more and more new domains are put in everyday. Man, domain sale is like a game. Very few guys can smile all the way to banks and buy a new house; most are unluckily working everyday for nothing or several dollars. It seems true that directly selling domains to relevant business companies/institutions is the only way to expect some pretty penny.
