U.S National Debt increases @ $1Million+ per Minute, So what's the Breaking point

I mean just how much is the United States worth in assets? I've heard that somewhere around 50% of the United States is owned by foreign investors already. A U.S dollar is now only worth .72 cents and the cost of everything is skyrocketing, Milk has increased 26% in the last year while eggs increased 40%.. I've been really concerned and only see things getting much worst.

OMG...I didn't even know those sort of numbers existed. Wow, I knew America was going downhill financially fast....but I didn't realize it was that fast.

Ouch. Hopefully, with a new government, there will come a new fiscal responsibility. One can only hope. You have to wonder if it will too late by then though.

We are definitely feeling the crunch, We are still aways from recession though. not far if things keep going like they are though, right now there is nothing to boost the economy. We need our military to leave Iraq, Any one noticed the freakin price of fruit??? One orange cost 0.59+, that is pathetic. It is much cheaper to fly, than drive, If you are going over 300 miles.

It probably depends where you live.. oranges here are 4 for a dollar still but eggs have almost doubled in price since last year.

Good points, and yes I think anyone who shops for fruit has noticed, even the prices of bananas are now higher.

When the dollars index sinks to these levels it really does effect everyone that uses them. For example, if you have a job earning $1,000.00 per week your now really only getting $720.00 per week because A DOLLAR is worth only approx .72 cents compared to the 100+ cents it's supposed to be worth. Add in the dramatic increased cost of living and it devalues your earnings even more.

When I heard if the FED didn't back BearStearns the Stock Market wouldn't have opened the Following Monday, I wondered what would have happened. If the stock market hadn't opened back up, it would have been a shock to the financial world and put us straight in a depression.
