Please do not sign up if you don't expect to be able to be active throughout the whole game! This includes voting and posting.
There will be seventeen players in the game.
- Once all seventeen slots have been filled, I will assign roles to each of the seventeen players at random. One of them will be the Mafia Leader, three others will be Mafia Members, twelve will be Citizens, and one will be the Policeman. Only those with special roles will be sent PMs
- Here is what happens over the course of one round of the game:
1) The four members (the Leader and the other three members) of the Mafia meet and decide to kill one person. They do not know whether this person is the Policeman or an ordinary citizen. If the members of the Mafia do not agree, then the Leader gets the final say. The Leader is responsible for sending me the name by PM.
2) The Policeman is to PM me with the name of one of the players of the game. I will tell him/her whether or not that player is in the Mafia.
The PM from the Mafia Leader and the PM from the Policeman are both due as soon as possible after the lynching. Once I have these, I will announce the name of the one citizen who has been killed.
3) All of the players discuss whom they think is in the Mafia. They can judge this based on who was killed last, or how suspicious their opponents sound, or anything else they want to use as evidence.
By the deadline, all of the Citizens, as well as the Policeman, must have PMed me one guess as to whom they think is a member of the Mafia. (If you send me multiple guesses, I will go with your most recent one.)
4) I will announce the name of the leading vote-getter in the citizens' votes. This person is dragged out of town and lynched. The next round then begins.
If you do not submit a vote *by PM* by the specified deadline, your vote will not be counted. Remember, I am keeping track of votes and repeatedly missing votes may result in you being asked to not participate for a couple games.
If at any time, the Mafia are all dead, the game ends and the citizens/cops are the winners.
If at any time, the number of Mafia make up at least half of the remaining players, then the Mafia wins!
5) In case of a tie in voting, the Policeman will be responsible for the deciding vote. If they have voted for one of the players in the tie, the one that they voted for will be lynched. If not, then the Policeman will be sent the names of those in the tie and will select one. If the Policeman is killed, they will still be used as the tiebreaker.
Important notes:
1- Mafia members ARE allowed to join in the discussion with the other citizens. This is an important rule to remember, as the Mafia is going to be very tricky to catch when they are trying to deceive you on your every move. Keep in mind when someone disagrees with you that they might have something to hide.
2- The Policeman, and only the Policeman can at any time announce their role, and reveal all information they have collected to date. If the Policeman is killed by the mafia or lynched before doing so, they are not allowed to pass on this information.
3- To minimize the possibility of collusion, please do not reveal your role to anyone, including non-participating friends and those who have already been killed.
