Hey, domain sellers! 👋

We have a special surprise for you.

Continuing from last year (and last week), we have some exciting updates to share with you about NamePros Parking Landers!

First, consider this:

You price your domain name at $2,500. For years, hundreds of interested buyers want to buy it, but the price is too high for them. They don't even try to contact you because they don't realize that the price is negotiable or may change. Years later, you decide to lower the price to $995. How many previously-interested buyers would buy it at this lowered price? You’d never know — until now!

With our new Buy Now options, you can finally contact those previous buyers to increase your sales opportunities. 💸

Here’s how:

Our landers have an option that requires buyers to confirm their email address before they can see the price. Once confirmed, the price is available to them and their email address is available to you. Simple and effective. Learn more on DNW.com.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have most of my domains set so the buyer can choose email, paypal, or escrow.com

If they were to choose escrow.com then who pays the commission? Could that be pre-determined at escrow.com and by way of the NP Landers?

From what I can divine, the NP verification uses a unique nameserver + ID format to confirm these domains are yours, but that's also a huge privacy issue because then anyone can search WHOIS records and easily determine every aftermarket domain you own, or at least every domain you have listed on NP.

I'm not sure I'm onboard with that, as it's far more secure to use DNS TXT record and then generic nameservers after the domain(s) have been verified.

Does NP Landers offer this kind of DNS TXT system or just the unique nameservers linked specifically to your account?

Currently, we offer 3 verification methods: NS, TXT, or CNAME. Only one method is necessary.

The TXT and CNAME options allow you to hide that information from WHOIS. For privacy, you could also use additional NamePros accounts or a broker.

We’re also considering a soft verification option for generic name servers.

The buyer pays the fee if they choose escrow.com as the payment method; try it out on our demo to see how that looks: https://nuggies.ninja

The industry standard is that buyers pay the escrow fee because the protection is mostly for them. Alternatively, they could choose PayPal and then the seller would pay the transaction fees, but the buyer would have less protection.

However, you can certainly create a new escrow.com transaction with the fee being split or paid entirely by you.

Thanks for asking. :)

Perfect and thank you very much for the info, as I am seriously thinking about giving you guys a shot in November. For sure, a small test case of domains sometime in late October.

One other question.

Exactly what are the payment methods, how are they handled and can they be added to?

For example, if I wanted to use eTransfer for a small transaction, is that supported? What about an old-fashioned paper check sent snail mail? How about Afternic or another registrar offering a 5% escrow fee?

I'm really looking to see how flexible the payment options are and exactly how they interact with the overall system. i.e, does what I'm asking even matter?

Currently, we have these payment-related options:

Based on requests, we plan to add more: EscrowDomains.com, Stripe, AtomPay, Efty Pay, CryptoExchange.com, etc.

There haven't been more than a handful of requests for a single new payment method, so we don't have a set prioritization yet. Let us know which you want first!

Our "Email" payment method is the option that buyers can choose for any other payment method that either (1) you've listed as supported in the description, or (2) that the buyer would like to propose to you, such as a wire transfer.

One other question.
Please feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like. We enjoy answering them and telling the developers about new feature requests. 😊

Let's extend that request to everyone:

Please reply with a list of all payment methods that you'd like us to support, along with how important each one is so we can prioritize adding them accordingly.

For example:
  1. Stripe: most important.
  2. EscrowDomains.com: very important.
  3. ...
  4. CryptoExchange.com: least important.

Thanks!

That's what I thought, that there would be a "catch-all" option in the payment methods, and thanks for the info and image.

There is only one I really want but it would be less likely than getting a certain agency to act quickly in helping Helene victims in the NC mountains.

Godday checkout link integration.

Is Stripe equivalent to being able to accept credit card transactions? My only concern with that is charge backs.

For me, I'd like to see:

EscrowDomains.com and Stripe in that order.
Afternic/GoDaddy 5% link if it ever happens, next.
Sedo, AtomPay, and Efty Pay after the first two but no important order for me.

Thank you!

1. Afternic/GoDaddy 5% Escrow (if possible)
2. Stripe

And #2 is a long way down the list from #1.

Yep, and more:

I like! How would the issue of chargebacks be handled? Does anyone here have any experience accepting / using stripe? Basically, what happens when someone purchases a non-tangible product such as a domain and the buyer tries to defraud stripe and the seller? Who gets the protection? I think I need to read more about stripe but if anyone knows from experience please do share.
Thanks! :)

If using TXT for verification what would we enter as IP address (A record)?

Does the TXT record have to remain in place for as long as the domain is listed, or just at the moment of adding a domain?

It can only be used for authorization while at your registrar, as once the nameservers are changes to Namepros', it would disappear.

1. I would really like Atom Pay to be included.
2. While I don't currently use it, Stripe seems an important choice.
3. The way they generate links, I don't think possible to automate, but if it was possible GoDaddy link to pay would be popular.

As long as we have a few good options, I don't know if it is necessary to have a huge number, and too many choices may be confusing. And the email can be used to discuss and offer other options.

Thanks for asking for input.

How would the issue of chargebacks be handled?
Stripe guides you through responding to the dispute using Stripe’s website. Then, it’s up to the buyer’s bank to review the case and decide whether you should win the dispute. This can vary quite a bit from bank to bank and situation to situation.

You might want to use escrow companies as a guide because they’ve already done the risk-reward analysis. For example, if Escrow.com will only accept payments up to $5k for credit card payments, then you probably shouldn’t exceed that either unless you’re positive the buyer won’t chargeback.

•••
If using TXT for verification what would we enter as IP address (A record)?
TXT does verification only, but you could still redirect (or link) to the lander at https://namepros.com/parked/example.com

Then replace “example.com” with your domain name.

The CNAME option offers a redirect feature, which may be more appealing. Depending on the registrar, you may still need to redirect the base domain (example.com) to the www domain (www.example.com).

Does the TXT record have to remain in place for as long as the domain is listed, or just at the moment of adding a domain?
Currently, yes because this helps sellers deactivate domains that have sold or expired.

If we add soft verifications as a feature, then that won’t be necessary anymore, but it will result in more outdated listings, accidental sales, and fraud, unfortunately.

We can probably come up with a better solution for any domainers with privacy concerns.

Please reach out to us.

GoDaddy checkout link can only be created if the domain in question is listed normally on AN and is not in ”pending review”. Because any domain can at any time, for whatever reason, go to review, I’m not one bit interested in promoting that GD option.
