What happens to the domains on the prerelease list that are not backordered?

Many of them should drop.

I don't know how the drop companies decide what to keep for auction.

Lately, I have been browsing the lists on Snapnames for domains in my area; most of them are really junky, so it pays to be careful and not bid just because the domain has a high xx price tag.

Occasionally, I'll backorder a premium, knowing that I'll be outbid.

When do these domains drop?

I have always went and checked these prerelease domains that haven't received bids. I have never seen one drop.

If you go to one of the domains there is even a link to backorder it at namejet, I tried to backorder one and it says "past backorder deadline". So what happens to the domain. Who knows, Namejet and the other companies are quite shady.

On namejet, after the backorder deadline, it goes to private auction with those users that backordered. If no one has backordered, I guess it drops, unless the registrar has been tasting it and wants to register for itself I guess.

How long does it take for a complete drop? Checked the list and 47 days was the closest I could come.
