Namejet auctions?

I have been doing the aftermarket for about 5 months now and the auctions always start the day after the pre-release deadline. My auctions haven't started yet.

Is anybody else noticing this issue?

Things seem to be changing with namejet. Not noticed that debt.tv but I've been noticing the namejet reserve (bid showing up for good names) in auctions.
What is with this?

Well, I will see today because now I have yesterdays and the day before "pending auction" domains.

EDIT!

Every domain (12 or so) that would have been at auction today or yesterday all went to wish list. Kind of disappointing. Has this happened to anybody eles? They were all pre-releases. And the whois on all of them still say pending renewal or deletion.

I don't trust Namejet at all.

I think they lie so that they can warehouse domains in the previous registrant's name if they don't get the price they want.

I recently bid on a pre-release and was the only bidder. The domain should have been awarded to me.

When I questioned them, they said that it was likely that the previous registrant renewed it (but wouldn't tell me for sure).

That might have ended it, but then I noticed that the last update for the domain was the day after its expiration date, five weeks BEFORE the scheduled auction.

Now does that sound like the previous registrant renewed the name?

Why would you send a domain to auction five weeks AFTER the registrant has already renewed the domain?

When I called Namejet on it, they just repeated what they had already told me.

Slippery slime, I'd say.

Namejet is mixing private sale domains into their pre-release pool without telling anything about it.

These days they have a lot of LLL.net domains in their system.

On snapnames prerelease there is no LLL.net domain.
On the pending delete list there is no LLL.net domain.
On Godaddy prerelease there is only 1 LLL.net domain.
On namejet prerelease list there are 1000 LLL.net domains.

Obviously all those 1000 LLL.net's are private portfolio domains. You can see and download the whole list at namecatch.

All those domains are registered at Godaddy and have their nameservers at ns1.above.com. None of them is expiring. Some of them are registered until 2012 or later. Here is a small sample:

Namejet PreRelease domains that are actually private portfolio and not expiring:
fre.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
cha.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
bes.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
col.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
aut.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
pho.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
sel.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
mot.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
pur.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
cos.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
hon.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
clo.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
pra.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM
hai.net GODADDY.COM, INC. NS1.ABOVE.COM

I agree with Ms Domainer. Don't trust Namejet. If they are not happy with the price they will cancel the sale.

That's interesting Erdinc. I was taking a look at all the 3 letter .NETs this week on Namejet and was thinking that there was no way all those expired.

Yeah, there's a ton of domains on the pre-release list which are pvt portfolio sales.

I wonder who it is that is selling these domains, the quality is unreal, guess the prices will be too at NJ.

Good luck to those going after them.

They were sold by Marchex apparently not long ago and someone has taken the decision to transfer them to GoDaddy, use whois privacy and put them for sale.

Not too bright... the whole thing in my opinion.

It could be a whole waste of time if seller does not sell.
