Starting to wonder if the NameJet auctions are fixed in some way. Noticed various domains up for sales in the forums turning up for auction in NameJet.

Considering some of these domains are going to for the original asking price in the forums. I'm starting to wonder if the auctions are rigged in some way or am I getting paranoid?

What drives me bonkers about NJ is the sometimes looooong page refreshes.

-but- at least when there's 1 minute left in auction, that's all there is unless someone else bids within that time.

Snap on the other hand.... today I was in an auction where "1 minute left" took a good 3 minutes and there were no other bids.

The more I look into this the more worried I become! For instance, NJ list 40q.com as pending delete but someone in this very forum is offering it for sale!!!

Thanks for the clarification that puts my mind at ease. However, isn't this a high risk strategy? The same person is offering 40R.com for sale but I actually won the auction!

According to the post, he didn't technically offer 40R.com for sale, but implied he "might add" it later. Still, it's pretty weak for anyone to list (or promise to list) a domain for sale that they do not own or are not acting on behalf of the authorized owner. For the most part, nobody should be trying to sell domain names they do not own, even if they are in an auction for it or have anything less than control over that domain.

So to answer to your original question, No, I do not believe NJ auctions are fixed. There are just a few shady individuals out there trying to take shortcuts.
