When do you know that a domain name is ready for sale after you have done some work on it? an un-dev domain name.

Is it when you get 1000 or more unique visitors or more?

Thank YOU!!!

As far as I'm concerned, a domain name is always ready to sell whether it has many visitors or not. Naturally, the more visitors it gets, the higher the value of the domain. But you shouldn't hesitate to sell a domain name just because it doesn't have many visitors.

There are two points: a good name even not promoted, and doesn't-matter-how-nice-or-ugly-is-name with traffic. I personally consider that first case is better.

for the second case, if I have a ugly name with traffic, why would I want to
sell it lower than the profit generated from the traffic? Why would anyone want to pay for more than the traffic can generate?

It also depends if you actually have plans for the domain. If you don't and feel that you should let it go for something better, then you might want to let it off. Sometimes it also depends if you want to let it go for someone else to make full good use of your domain too. Right price offers might also lead you to selling a domain.

Some of my domains told me that they are not ready yet...
But my banker called me and said "show me the money"...
Now realy ...most of my sales not depend on traffic.

nice domain name with keywords or brandable domain without TM issues is always high value and can be sold at any time.

How do you work on an undeveloped name?

Just thought I would add my thoughts :)

ALL of my domains are up for sale straight from the start. However as I develop and put more time into them the price I want goes up, the same goes for any parked domains.

Basically the way I look at it is that every domain in your portfolio should have a price. Some ( like DomainSage.com ) that I am developing are ones that I want to keep .... However if I can get the right price evn these are for sale :)

All the best

Richard

The business of Domains is not just about traffic.

If you analyze all the top sales on DnJournal over the last couple of years you will be suprised how many had low overture count and traffic.
