a .name would be worth the bother?.Obviously no one prefers these but using the stats"Global Monthly Search Volume" from the keyword tool;at What search volume can these be expected to overcome the unpopular extention?.1 mil searches/month? 2 mil searches? or less?.There are still quite a few highly searched keyword domains in the .name extention avail so that is why wondering;others experience.I only have one .name domain and it has 165,000 monthly searches by the keyword stats.it is a gardening noun .That is not doing much traffic so I know the figure needs to be a lot more than 165k to be "worth it".Any experiences to mention?

I would stay away from .name regardless of the search volume.. The only .name domains I would register would be sex.name, and poker.name, and even on these 2 , I'd have to think twice about it...

Yeah, to me .name is worthless unless it is a cool hack like

Screen.Name

Or the keyword is so overpowering. Even those don't have a lot of potential though.

I've actually found some success in domain gimmick type .name domains. For instance, YourDomain.name, TypeIn.name, Stunning.name, etc. In some instances, I get 20+ UV's a day to some .name domains with a 20% CTR.

Also, they are great to use as the from email address in email proposals to end users to grab their attention.
