Guys,
as far as i'm aware we don't have an official N-N-N.com thread
Obviously the lists are all over the forum & mentioned in many threads, in particular the L-L-L.com thread

Thought would start this thread as in some ways is the most exciting as we can watch them run out.
It will be like watching the LLL.mobi's go all over again.

Difference is, rather than 17k possibilities, there are only 1000 posibilities.

I don't pretend to be an expert on Number Domains
I welcome domainers who are, i know of a few who have added fantastic inputs re: N-N-N.coms

In my opinion these will run out first, obviously because of th rarity, but also beacuse Asian domainers in particular just love to trade these babies. Number domains in general.
Of course number domains are huge over there
I've noticed imo, there could be a hot demand for radio numbers (stn's), as it stands, they have some hideous domains lol. They need! some of our domains. lol

You only need 10 X N-N-N.COM'S TO OWN YOUR VERY OWN 1% OF THE ENTIRE POSSIBLE AMOUNT! D-:

Here's the list as of few hours ago, some will have gone though.

Most thanks to BuyandSwap, it's down to his quality mining & scans that we can perouse the lists.

Here's the link to his site
http://www.bluebecker.com/storage/N-N-N.txt

I'm gonna list them here for easy viewing.
No doubt Chris will re-run in a day or so when he gets a chance.

It does not make sense for NNN.com owner, but for someone looking for memorable numeric, N-N-N is more memorable than NNNNN. Compare 5-3-2.com and 51372.com. The former is also looking much more compact.

I am curious, what is the amount of regged and available N-N-N in ".net" and in ".cn" zones. Has anyone checked that?

•••
I agree the n-n-n would be seen as a separate entity, no-one would confuse the two

I just think they would be a nice package. Not that it would sweeten a deal.
888.com and 8-8-8.com would go nice together. Not that the NNN would need it or that someone might confuse the N-N-N with the NNN.com site.

Just saying I would pick the N-N-N up if I paid sooo much for the NNN. Specially at what the N-N-N are valued at today. What's a $100+ to someone who just dropped $100,000?

How much did 888.com sell for?

They could put up a pay site on the NNN and a non pay site on the other. They made three "8's" their brand so to cover all the bases, I would grab them both. Just my opinion though.

I would rather have a N-N-N than a 5N or 6N just due to rarity and ease to remember.

N-N-N is different than k-e-y-w-o-r-d. I personally would pickup the k-e-y-w-o-r-d if it was very short like L-L-L.
What do you read when I type S-E-X.com? SEX of course. If I paid millions for SEX.com you're damn right I would want the L-L-L.com(S-E-X.com)!

A longer k-e-y-w-o-r-d domain I don't think I would grab. Maybe if that was my only domain or website that I wanted to brand and didn't want someone else sitting on it.

N-N-N.com is a better investment with more possible ROI than the NNN.com
NNN.com cost $100,000 to $1million+ how much higher could they be worth?

It just seems like there is more room growth and potential buyers for the N-N-N in the near future.
NNN prices are very high leaving only those with very deep pockets to invest or develop.
N-N-N prices are low. There are more people with a little to spend on domains than people with very deep pockets.

NNN won't be changing hands once they get developed or a least changing hands less than a N-N-N.
NNN prices seem to be topping out while there is plenty of room for N-N-N growth.

A large sale in the near future can change these prices fast. They're just numbers and numbers domains are hot getting hotter, but not that many people can get the funds to buy the NNN.coms

People are spending $1000's on 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9N domains which there are sooo many. We are only talking about a 1000 domain niche market here.

3N, 4N, 5N are getting bought out in every new extension that comes out. We are still talking the .com

The hyphen doesn't bother me when we are talking about a 5 character, 3 number domain plus a .com

I remember when I thought people were crazy for buying 4N.com for $100
There are 10,000 of those.
I wish I could back and pick all those up, but the times have changed.
I think I even had this argument with someone back then thinking 4N.com would never be worth more than $100.
I learn from my mistakes!

I still say N-N-N.com is waaaay undervalued even today. Time will tell and I don't think I will be wrong on this one. I'm along for the ride. The tickets are cheap now. Buy low sell high. Don't buy when prices are high. The under-valued niche is where the potential is at. Everyone wishes they could go back just a couple years and pick up LLLL.com's for those prices. Those days are gone too.

Just say'n

~
Are you kidding? ...........give me a NNN any day of the week over a N-N-N These will go up tenfold over the years, which results in big big money for the owners, developed or not. The N-N-N has an upside but cannot be compared to a NNN ........sheer madness to even contemplate it. I have a N-N-N but my head is not in the clouds. They are separate entities.

He's comparing ROI, not revenue.

If you have invested same amount of money in NNN.com and N-N-N.com at today's prices good chance that N-N-N.com investment would appreciate more. Because NNN.com already selling for millions and will have to sell for 10's of millions to beat N-N-N.com rise from $50 to $1000.

•••
I do understand that but in ten years time I will be saying the NNN was still a better investment ... wait and see, we are talking about something that has been unwanted for many many years now. At this point the NNN is proven

•••
Do you have money to buy one of NNN.com? ;)

By the time when market is "proven" all the best investments are gone.

•••
Can I lend some cash ..... I don't mind if I am proven wrong, I grabbed my N-N-N for $12, it's all good
~
I am much more sceptical about the L-L-L's though

If you invest $100,000 on a NNN right now and it goes up to $1million, you've only made 10x your investment. Many NNN are already getting up to $1million, so the market will have to climb into $10million range to get an ROI of 10x.

If you invest $100 on a N-N-N right now, it only has to go to $1000 to get 10x on your investment.
Your $12 investment only had to go to $120 to make 10x your money. If the market climbs to $1000 on N-N-N then you tiny $12 investment will have gone up 83.3x. I don't see the NNN
market going up 80-100x's.

When prices go into the $100,000's for a NNN, it pulls potential buyers out of the market due to the funds required for the purchase. Domains that are in everyones prices range sell faster and have more of a market.

I don't think we will see a $10million NNN sale for a long long time. If they ever do get into that range, there are very few buyers that can pay that. All other potential buyers will look for an alternative to the NNN which will lead them to the undervalued N-N-N market.

Of course anyone would take a NNN over a N-N-N any day of the week.
Same with a LLL over a L-L-L. which are undervalued also.

NNN prices are topping out. N-N-N has room to climb due to the small investment required to obtain it. They are not pretty and don't hold a candle to NNN, I get that, but they can make more ROI than a NNN at this time.

You could sell your N-N-N for $24 and double your money today. It's very hard to do that with a NNN.

I do agree there is an upside with N-N-N and I do understand the "bigger" Roi on that investment, but when it comes to the L-L-L's I just don't think there will ever be a strong market. I think some N-N-N owners may be getting anxious after waiting for so long to get some form of growth?

The L-L-L market scares me a little too, but just due to any UDPR issues that may pop up.

There was a time when no one in this business thought that 5N and 6N.com would be going for more than reg fee. No one was reg'n 100's or 1000's of them and expecting to make money on them.

Once the buyout happens in a niche, just about anything could happen. They can all be dropped, the good ones will almost always be held in portfolios though.
Not sure why there is a L-L-L poll at the top of a N-N-N thread either.

At one stage I held J-O-B.info, perhaps I would have kept it had it been a .com

But WHY ? Why on earth would someone do that? Would you be planning to promote the N-N-N.com? I mean would you buy KEYWORD.com and the K-E-Y-W-O-R-D.com? No. It makes no sense to do that.

*shrug*

You have a valid point if we are dealing with mid to long words. But short domains an extra 2 X '-' will not make a big difference for end users to type. Again we are all after domain names where end users can remember and type without big effort...

So if you take KEY.com v.s K-E-Y.com , would you pay $xx,xxx mid to high end value or $x,xxx ? At the end you are still hitting the same objective, remembering the domain name...

Ok -- so find me 1 case where an LLL.com domain holder also bought the L-L-L.com. I'd say it's going to be a needle in a haystack search, but let's see how that goes... ;)

I don't think that's what he's talking about. He's just saying that buying a long keyword with hyphens in between doesn't make as much sense as short L-L-L that might be a keyword.

There are 17,576 L-L-L.com compared to only 1000 N-N-N. Very few people can own one!

Hmmm....... You can scroll back through but the prior post I had replied to seemed to suggest that someone who owned an NNN for $xxx, xxx would probably buy the N-N-N for $x,xxx ... cause why not?

I'm suggesting that doesn't happen.

Yeah ... This post:

If you own NNN you are most likely not too fussed about the N-N-N ...... If you own NNN you are doing just fine without the hyphenated version, they just don't need em

That was me.
I was just saying that if I paid that much for a NNN.com I would try to add the N-N-N.com to my portfolio. It doesn't have to be developed. I would just not want anyone else to be able to own a domain that is soo similar to the domain I just paid $100,000 for.

There may come a time when it would be useful to own both. For me I would just want that base covered.
That's just me though. I like numerics more than the Chinese ;)

True that, but I would want the N-N-N too.
If I sold my house to buy the NNN, I'd sell the dog house too just to get the pair.
Maybe it's the hoarder in me!
