Mysterious Name Sales

Some strange names from recent sales on Godaddy auction:

21nam(.)org $1,501
domains4(.)com $390

Don't really understand value of these domains.
Anybody ?

Sometimes the buyer is not a reseller but rather an end-user, i.e. someone who will develop and brand the domain name into something that has value. In these cases, the esthetics and inherent value of the domain is less of a concern.

However, I agree with you that 1,500 for 21nam.org = overpaid

It may well be a newbie or an automated script that bought them. Or maybe simply collusion between the buyer and seller.

21nam.org appears to have been a site before, i don't know about the other one.

I expect the appraisals section will be buzzing soon with similar bizarre regged names!

the reason why you sometimes see such sales, is not because of the names, but because of :

Pagerank , Traffic, Backlinks, etc.

For instance: 21nam.org - Valid Pagerank 6 - 1025 Backlinks - DMOZ listed - and i guess thousands of uniques each month, etc....

i was wondering for days now is it really worth that much?

cause right now i wouldnt pay $20 for PR4 page and you can get cheaper PR pages on trading forums(with horrible names)
