MyDomain.Com experience so far

Greetings!

I had recently gotten an expired domain drop via SnapNames. The domain falls into mydomain.com account. I looked at their pricing and features. It seems ok. I even ordered 1 additional domain. Quite smooth. Well, I just want to share my experience so far. Hopefully, all things go well. .com pricing is $8.50 net.

Feel free to share if you have different experience otherwise.

I've used them for a couple of years and am impressed. they used to suffer the odd lag logging on, but that disappeared a while back. My first choice registrar and good priced hosting options too.

I used their free DNS service for years for most of my domains. The DNS service was quite good and very stable but I stopped using their service because the user interface was slow and all DNS updates could take hours or even day before they went through.

My first registrar I like them they are a dotster reseller. I use their DNS service like others have mentioned moved my .com .net .org to Fabulous because they are $1.75 cheaper and only $4.50 for.net. Good company though IMO

I used them for the free .info promo in 2004. I sold most of those domains for NP$
They seemed very smooth & I had no problems with them.

I've used their domain redirection and email forwarding for many years. They were providing pretty comprensive services for free way before anyone else. You can create subdomains plus metatags for your redirected pages. Good resource for portfolio owners.

Whats the advantage of using mydomain.com as compared to say namecheap.com (who accepts paypal, fast nameserver change, and .com is $7.99 w/ coupon)

Today I don´t think there is any advantages. It was mentioned that some of the IPs used by NameCheap for redirection and hosting was blacklisted at whois.sc which of cause can be a problem.

The free redirection service was excellent. They seem to use the normal dotster interface
