My site:
http://67.222.129.208/~penangbr/yahoo_topstories.php

If you go to the url above, you will see that all the images are broken. The reason is that the reader unable to show the "&" symbol in the image url.

Compare the image url
working: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20090108/capt.208369ddd84b4d0684a7ac97c7bdfee4.obama_economy_vacd101.jpg?x=130&y=85&q=85&sig=V7sYYnVeJhG8iJGltKf8uw--

I have uploaded the scripts as in the attachment.
feedReader.inc.txt --> change it to feedReader.inc.php
RSSReader.txt --> change it to RSSReader
yahoo_topstories.txt --> change it to yahoo_topstories.php

Will pay 200NP for the fixes.

Thanks!!!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Try putting urlencode around the variables when you get the URL for image (and then url decode when you echo the variable to display the image)

nasaboy007,

i did try this
$output = $this->data['item']['description'][$item];
$output = urlencode($output);
$output = urldecode($output);
echo $output;

still no luck and not working.
do you have any other idea? Thanks

try doing that in the rssfeed grabbing class where they get the image.im not sure but it's just a suggestion - it's really weird that it doesnt take the & signs.

if that still doesn't work, then im not sure - if all your image urls are in that format (with those get variables), you can add in the and signs yourself by exploding at the x= etc.

Just curious (and for anybody else who may have a similar problem), what was the solution? And what was the cause of the initial problem?

The solution was use my own RSS class (based on SimpleXML.)

Had a look through the class that was there, was a long knotted class anyway, rewrote it and problem solved. Also made implementing it much nicer.

Dan.
