Well, I've finally spent some time (quite a long time actually! LOL) developing and making my first ever dotMobi live and developed, at:

NFH.mobi

Went live today and still lots more content to add as it ages. :)

I have designed and tested most, if not all pages, to score 5/5 at Ready.mobi.

I deliberately haven't used wurfl at this point, so the site remains accessible by PC/Computer browsers and I expect there are pros and cons to this. I'd like to give the opportunity for new visitors to .mobi to 'acclimatise' to the domain extension and idea, hopefully helping them to feel comfortable on their PC first.

I would much appreciate your feedback, comments, ideas and if you spot any existing or potential problems and especially if you can test it in your mobile/cell phone, etc.

Thanks. :)

Hello A|ien,

this is good work, congrats. Very well done! I advice you to put the CSS on a separate file *.css, that way you put more on cache.

Outstanding work, maybe i'll hire you... :)

Cheers,

Aww, shucks, thanks akc :red:-, I'm really excited about the .mobi possibilities.

Thanks for the tip on the css; I tried it both ways and settled in the end for no seperate .css, as the mobi validator was giving me hassle about it (LOL) and also the style wasn't consistently appearing in the site view on some phones.

I'll try it again though on a test and fiddle about a bit - thanks again. B-)

PS: I'm trying to submit to http://mtld.mobi/showcase - but can't find any submission forms/contact, etc, am I overlooking it I wonder?! :)

Nice site Alien! I think you did a very good job. :)
I don't think mtld is accepting anymore showcase sites at this time. The submission forms have been removed. :)

Thanks everyone, much appreciate your comments; now it's up and running it will be easier to add the planned content over the next few weeks, while the URL gets picked up and made more familiar, etc - hopefully. :)

Great work A|ien.

Talk about a topic that no one wishes that they will ever have to deal with firsthand, but one that almost everyone is surely to encounter to some extent during their lifetime.

Lots of very good detailed, relevant information on your site. Delivery is clean and efficient. I wouldn't worry too much about adding WURFL capability as the site reads nicely on the PC screen and since it is mostly textual it should fit any mobile screen comfortably. You can always add that functionality later. There's some links on the forum somewhere about how to integrate it into your site.

Best wishes for the site (and hope you don't have to use the information where you live). ;)

Hi everyone :)

I just wanted to say a huge thanks for all the comments, feedback and words of encouragement, it's really helped.

NFH.mobi continues to be updated and so far is proving to be a useful dotMobi site for site users.

As always, I'd appreciate any ongoing feedback from the dotMobi community here as it helps me to develop further, thanks! B-)

Excellent piece of work........ this is what .mobi is all about... useful, concise & easily rendered on a small screen... Bring them on!

Just a small word in your 'shell like'...... it's a damp squib (not squid ;)

Great stuff.

Regards

Gary

Very happy indeed to report that mtld.mobi have listed NFH.mobi in their dotMobi Showcase which is a real honour. :)

We can also use the '.mobi compliant' icon as seen here and mtld.mobi are also assisting us to put in a case study about NFH.mobi.

Hope this encourages other developers to keep creating and extending their .mobis - thanks again to all for the great feedback. B-)
