Up to now all the domains I have are registered as new and built up from there. They are going well so I am ready for the next step. I want to bid on my first domain at Sedo. I learned a lot here about valuating a domain, but I'm just not willing to pay as much for this particular domain I'm slightly interested in as I think it's actually worth.

My question is, should I bother putting in a bid (there is no asking price) or am I just insulting the seller? I don't mean a ridiculously low price, but something like $100 for a domain probably worth a few $XXX.

Whatever you think is suitable value for that domain, bid it. Its upto seller if he accepts, refuse or make a counter offer. You're not insulting the seller.

Yep, my bid is in. Pretty exciting for the first time (the 1,000th probably is too).

you never know, he may click the "accept" by mistake. Or you may have seen an "0" as a "O" typo by mistake.
