Hi I was wanting to know if its possible to create a online multiplayer game which keeps scores.

for example I want to make a fully online Poker game (free of course) with money(fake money) that is recorded and can be used again when they login next time.

Can someone let me know what is involved in this?

Ive been told its probbaly good to develope a site I have chosen pokertutorials.info for developement and this is one feature I would love to get if possible.

sorry if its totally out of the question I am a newbie but I have seen multiple sites with multiplayer games that also keep scores.

Im a newbie at everything where would I have to start? you have to start somewhere.

or if I were to ask someone to make a game like this what would I be looking at paying?

wouldnt it be easier if something was installed on the computer instead of being flash?

searching a bit

Greetings! Are you looking for flash games only? We have online multiplayer poker (both standalone and web version (java)). Please contact me if you are interested. Best regards, Alex.

how about java?

Ill post a couple of adds in freelance programmer forums and see what they r asking as I know exactly what I want maby they already have something made.

I am not very experienced in the actual game making process, I believe for almost all games you are looking at least $x,xxx, its possible to go with other options, but flash has been seen as the most effective so far

I have to disagree, when hosting an app like this on a server of which you have control, you could also choose to develop it witch platforms such as Open Laszlo or Ruby on Rails. Flash is just one option, not the only one out there...

I would imagine it's possible in many ways - flash the most obvious, probably even possible with PHP & Ajax, and theres always java too.

Either way it won't be cheap to create. Good idea, though.
