Perhaps not. Most like the free publicity.

But if it is a copyrighted intellectual property, which most movies are (not just the film but the script, writers, producers, artists, etc) and the movie title/logo are trademarked (ie, how the title appears and is used) then there is always a risk that the answer to your question is...yes, that possibility exists.

If you plan on going this route, I would stronly suggest you write a very nicely composed letter to the studio that released the film and discuss your plans and get their permission to go ahead with the project.

Nothing would be more wasteful than to spend the time, effort, and expense at launching such a project to have it shut down.

Also, you and the seller reached an agreement that there are no problems or issues regarding the legality of the domain name by simply conducting the transfer from one party to another.

Read the EULA for both registrars. If you have to surrender the name, the person that sold it to you would have to compensate you.

I am not an attornery, but have dealt with these issues in the past.

I wish you luck.

Thanks for your reply, very informative indeed. Yes i will be using their logo and text style as well since it is a fan site. But there are no tm or copyright sign in any of those. And the movie is under warnerbros, i wonder if they will sue me.

Please, contact them first. Just because you see no TM, SM or copyright, does not imply there is none. Be polite and courteous and you may win a fan in WarnerBros
