why do scientists likes to use mice in experiments anyway?

I think it's mainly because of their short lifespan, quick reproduction, and the fact most people dislike mice, meaning less of a protest if mice have to die for experiments to be done than say, if they used cats or dogs. Genetically, they have a lot in common with us, so it's not uncommon for mouse trials to have similar results to trials with other animals or even humans once modifications are made to account for differences between mice and men (eg. weight, metabolism, probably 10 other factors I'm not aware of but someone doing these experiments is).

I think that will be a very exciting field to be in the next 50 years or so -- just seems like we're going to see so much change for the better

I'm very much looking forward to the next generation of gaming consoles and what they'll be able to do to advance scientific research, such as protein folding (Folding@home).
