Monitor image too big for screen?

My resoloution settings make the monitor image too big for the screen, but istead of making everything smaller, like it should, it just makes the image "overflow" and when I move my mouse pointer to the edge of the screen it scrolls onto the overflow.

How do I stop this?

I have seen this before. I dont know how to get it off. But ill call my friend and ask him. :)

means your monitor isn't cable of running that resoloution

but the monitor supports it.

With my old monitor, on a high resoloution it went all funny and flickered. This time is is perfect, just too big for the screen! :(
