Hi All,

I just checked an email from moniker and it says that some of my domain names got selected for the auctions. But right below the names, there is this

DON'T FORGET... to ensure timely payouts and to avoid the $100.00 transfer fee upon sale, be sure to transfer your selected domains to your Moniker account prior to the Auction event. .

So the transfer fee would be $100 if the name's with a different registrar? :(

You can move your domains to Moniker now if you don't want to pay $100.00

Moniker has their own escrow service and I guess they want to complete the
transaction as smooth as possible when your domain is sold.

Quite correct - and of course Moniker also get the registration fee if you transfer and don't sell - bit of a win win is it not. :gl:

But I sold 3 names last year in Moniker auctions and there was no $100 fee or anything. All three names were with name.com or godaddy. So this is something new then?

Things changed about 6 months ago I believe. I was able to transfer after the previous auctions without the fee but got caught from a sale at the November auction. :td:

Wow did you actually pay that $100 :( . Man, I just transferred all my names to godaddy and now I need to transfer 27 of those names to Moniker. :'(

How much does moniker charge for .com transfers? Never did it.

Yes, unfortunately they deducted the $100 from the sales price even though the transfer completed three days after the auction ended. The upside was that it was a $xx,xxx sale so %wise relatively low. And they charged me the transfer fee on top.

I have another that may well sell at Internext as I have put up a fair reserve on a very high premium adult keyword- Moniker want $15 to transfer my current registrar wants $5.50 renew/transfer. :td:

Kind of a messed up policy if you ask me.

Sort of domain kidnapping, (maybe I got a new term here- ha). Really not needed in my opinion. You sell a name, you transfer it. Why the hell pay to transfer for every name that gets accepted to the auction?. Only a small fraction of them sell right?

I transferred like 150 of my names from name.com to godaddy last month and many of those names actually got selected for the extended auction. Now, due to the 60 day policy something by ICANN, I cannot transfer them to moniker and some of them have "No Reserve" I Hope they don’t sell for anything less than $100.

I should have checked though about this new rule... stupid me I always get to know everything at the last moment :'(

Anyways, good luck to us all. Hope we have VERY BIG SALES :) thanks for replying guys.

Yeah I knew about the $100 when I sent about 80 of my best names for the auctions.

So I made sure to have my prices higher by about $100. So with some reserves factoring in this $100 transfer fee, some names may sell for higher as owners like myself covered our bets.

I had to transfer a domain to Moniker this morning for the Internext auction, I guess it is meant to stop people refusing to transfer a domain after an auction or selling it privately just before the auction starts. Does anybody know how to see domains accepted for auction in youe Moniker account? I couldn't find anything earlier today. Also, I submitted domains for auction at another Moniker auction, how do I see the reserve prices I put on them? Moniker don't seem to allow much time between accepting a domain for auction and the actual auction so there isn't much time to privately market them. When I submitted a domain for auction once before, Moniker reduced the reserves, and I got an opportunity to accept that or reject it. I rejected it, I'm presuming you will have the option to do that. I thought there was another Moniker auction coming up at the end of January and I haven't heard anything to date.
