Has anyone used Moneybookers escrow service for domain names? If so would you recommend it or is it to be avoided?

I have. MB is a good alternative to paypal.
MB does not allow chargebacks, which is a good thing when you're the seller. But I think payments can still be reversed if the funds turn out to be stolen.
For large amounts standard escrow is preferable.

Thank you for that useful information! I am so accustomed to Paypal that I had not paid enough attention to MB, which I use rarely, but I will reconsider.

You cannot use MB with PP.
I personally like MB better, they also allow you to withdraw your profits to many bank accounts and not only U.S bank accounts.

They do not allow chargebacks and are safer to sellers.

I once sold the domain dhakablog.com to a Bangladeshi via MB escrow. He placed the money in escrow and released it once I had pushed the domain to him. The onus was on him to confirm that the domain was in his possesion and that the money should be released to me. He was honest so the deal went smoothly.

But I think a dishonest person could cause the seller some problems. Personally I think its best if you use an escrow service where both the money and the domain are first transferred to the escrow agent who then transfers them to the appropriate party. This way both parties are kept honest.
