Near Field Communications or NFC technology is growing exponentially and guess which Fortune 100 company owns the domain name NFC.technology.

When the smartest tech companies on the planet (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.) jump into the gTLD world with both feet, maybe it's time for legacy .COM domainers to start hedging their bets as well.

As an aside here's a pretty good read on what NFC Technology is all about.

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to because the domain name you've cited is owned by someone in Turkey according to DomainTools WHOIS.

If you just visited the web site then maybe you've confused an IIS 8 default page with something else.

Another failure of a .com hating thread.

Only because a Fortune 100 company purchases a gTLD doesn't "validate" that extension in any way. Always look at the intrinsic value of an extension first:

  • - Short
  • - Large Niche
  • - Fills A Gap In The Market
  • - Reliable Registry
  • - Not Too Expensive
  • - Reasonable Renewals ($16-30 for gTLDs)
  • - Coverage, Marketing

Technology definitely is not a short extension. Nor does it fill a huge gap in the market. "Dot Tech" has much better marketing campaigns, is shorter and more preferable. Both extensions are still very speculative.

There are better extensions IMO
