Same thing applies to all domains, vista related or not. Sure, you can reg any extension. The question is, who is the king? You'll find that ".COM" is the answer in many cases right now, but not all.

1and1 is my main registrar- they frequently approve on "hot" .us drops, only to reverse the order 12 hours later.
That's probably the case here. Good thing I got a few others..
