To balance the power and give members to be actively involved and represented in the management and development of our community, NamePros is establishing a Member Representative position.

This position is not a staff position in an official capacity, and does not include moderator abilities. Instead, a Member Representative is a member of the NamePros community selected to act as a representative on behalf of the good of the community as a whole.

Member Reps will be instrumental in the legislation of the site alongside the NP staff. As representatives of the community, Member Reps can propose and vote on new site rules, developments and forum management. The Member Rep quorum and NamePros Staff are to be equal in this regard. The balance of power will consist of a two body legislative system similar to the ones our governments use. Member Representatives will comprise one body, while our NamePros staff will comprise a separate body. New legislation (such as site rules or changes), can be introduced by the staff or by the member reps. New rules or major site decisions will be presented to the Member Representatives quorum for approval before going public. Likewise, member rep proposals would require support of staff.

Representatives will be selected from the community and approved by the membership at large. Candidates for this position would be active members that are well respected by the community. A good size Member Representative quorum would be 7 to 10 members, each serving 6 month terms. This can be a rotating, elected position giving every NamePros member the opportunity to act as a Member Representative in the future.

Our first seven member representatives have been nominated and are presented here for your sustaining vote.
