Hello,
Mediashakers uses to allow to their advertiser to insert malicious code inside their ad scripts. This code will redirect visitors to other pages, load tons of sh*ts (like all those ppc search engines that are full of other sh*ts etc..) and sometimes try to install some not-good software.
I got very very disappointed for this. All this would happen with US/Canada/UK traffic, and since i'm not in these countries, i NEVER noticed anything during several months. I used to receive some complaints but when i went to check (even from different computers) i never find anything bad.
During last days i have received MANY complaints, and then i decided to remove ALL the ads (i also use clicksor for 1 banner and adbrite for interstitial) and try inserting one by one. Since i've thought it could be a targeted campaign, i asked to some US and UK friends to check my website every time, and they have found bad codes when Mediashakers codes were loaded.
Anyway, since it was happening for every reload, i can also think the malicious code would be inserted by themselves...but i don't want to be paranoic, so i just want to report this here, and maybe advice you to stay away from them.
And it's a pity, because they pay regularly, and their rates are pretty low but not as low as others. And, most important, they accept almost every website.
Their "game" has caused me a loss of around 10,000 uv/day. I used to have 13,000 average uv/day, and after few months with them, they have decreased to 3,000 average uv/day. During last 2 days with no Mediashakers banners, it has increased to 3,500 / 4,000 but build that traffic volume has costed me lot of work.
Hope this would help you guys.
