Agreed.

Currently, you're presenting a forum; a forum that swallows your logo. The logo shouldn't be predominant on the page, however, the logo and tag line sets the intention of the site. What's the purpose of your forum, what are you setting out to do? These questions can be answered with a well thought out logo and tag line.
Once you're done with it. Follow up with skinning the forum to match the color of the logo.

Last but not least, once you've established why people should use your forum, expand your categories to offer more opportunities.

Good start, only one thing left to do; Get it from Good to Great!

Well I've heard it both ways. Too many categories seem empty and I should wait for it to become busy and then add more. Like I've don'e with www.teenlounge.org. Or that's probably a whole another story.

Thanks,

I agree with that type of logic; it's the safe avenue to go. However, if you go down this route, make sure that there is a "tab" or category that's standing out from ALL others, where you get the message across that users NEED to suggest the topics that they want to see. Upon having enough inquiries, the mods/admin will add the topic. This gets you to more user driven topics and doesn't dilute the content. Provided that you make sure that users understand that the topics will only extend if they ask for them to be added, it's a smart way of thinking. Maybe it's just me in this case, and don't get me wrong here, i sometimes just don't give much credit to users when they are not properly guided, which always leads me down the path that sites need to be concepted as a "no brainer" simple to follow - intuitive pattern...

I don't think I got to see the first version, but it seems as though you definitely made your logo "bigger", maybe a little too much BIGGER.

What are these forums for anyway? Who are they targeted towards ?

This is was the first version basically.

A little is cutoff. Sorry, I don't have a better pic. I deleted everything a long time ago. And don't have the patience to install. But you get the idea.

Anyway as for what we do.

I like big-boards.com. But they require 50,000 posts to be in their directory. I never have 50,000 posts. So I thought this would be a good time to have a place for those like me who'll probably never have that many posts either. And that's why I came up with this site.

Thanks,
ivnj
