Adobe, Amex, Burger King, Coke, Costco, Dell, Ford, GE, HP, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg, Nationwide, Nestle, Proctor & Gamble, Samsung, US Bank, etc.

Most major companies are seeing this for what it is - a solution to a problem that did not exist.

Take the TM issues that exist today and multiply it many times over.

and I wish them the best of luck. It's a blatant ICANN money grab - doesn't add value and will just confuse people.

Surprised to see J.C. Penney Company, Inc. in that list, weren't they in trouble a while back for certain black hat SEO techniques?

It wasn't all that "black hat" - they had bought a lot of links and they got caught. Against Google's policies, and they got a penalty for it, but not like they were doing something really nasty like hacking to create links and send traffic to their site.
