:'(
Just now i was at godaddy and every Price in there was showing in Indian Currency
so the minimum raise on two domains were 475 Rupees
so i just entered 500 Rupees which is equal to 10$
and i was just shocked when it came as 500$ raise :O

500$ X 2 =1000$ for just some domains that i would hardly buy for 50$ each :O
I have emailed the godaddy team within seconds...
and i cant even call them now as its night and i dont have ISD on my phone :'(

what do i do :(
I have some of my offline business sites on my account
and i m in no condition to pay 1000$ for those names

please suggest :'(

-The buyer is my facebook friend
so i have also messaged him pleading not to accept the offer and told him that i have already contacted the godaddy team... :'(
:( really too much sad

How much those Jackasses will Rob us?

Thanks a lot bro...
it really helped...

I had a word with the customer care and it was a great relief to do so..
the auction team is currently reviewing the incident and hopefully the bid should get reversed.

I have already pushed my domains to a friend who has bought some of them off and hopefully all should go well.

:( still worried and sitting with crossed fingers

updaddy.com upmom.com

i remember these i lost this domain to one of these because of some strange credit card problem then day it expired it was snapped up. There was nothing wrong with my credit card. They total scammed me out my domain.

Just got a reply from godaddy...
All i have to say is... I just entered 500 INR (Indian rupees)
now i dont know how it turned into dollars...
this was obviously the sites glitch cause i cross checked and everywhere it was indian currency...
+ i do intend to bid on the domain upto a certain limit

but any ways what do you guys think.. should i just pay those 20$ for the two domain or should i email them back explaining the situation
cause i would 100% prefer paying 20$ and having nothing rather than paying 1000$ and having those 2 name

Your bid is a binding contract. You agreed that you would pay for the domains you won when you accepted the Go Daddy Auctions Membership Agreement, therefore you are expected to pay for the domain name upon auction close.

The Terms of Service also states:

"Go Daddy reserves the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee for administrative tasks outside the scope of its regular Services, including additional costs that it may incur in providing the Services and pass along to You. These include, but are not limited to, customer service issues that cannot be handled over email but require personal service, fees incurred by third parties You have elected to use as payment methods, including PayPal and Certegy, Inc., and disputes that require legal services."

If you do not intend to pay for the domain names you bid on, in accordance with the Go Daddy Auctions Membership Agreement, your account will require extra work that falls outside the scope of our regular services. As a result, you will be charged a $10 Administrative fee for each domain name bid we need to cancel/reassign/relist in accordance with the agreement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You may avoid these fees in the future by reading, understanding and following the Terms of Service and Go Daddy Auctions Membership Agreement whenever you decide to place a bid on a domain in our system. Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.

I would email them back and explain exactly what happened (yet again) and that you will be willing to pay the $10 administrative fee (quote the email above from GoDaddy). However, I would make them note of the error, and make sure they understand (yet again, repetition is not a bad thing here) that this was an error on their side. Also, let them know to please bill you ASAP so you can move on and forget this whole situation.

You may want to also think about calling to verify that all you need to do is pay the $10 for each auction to get out of the bids. *edit* on second thought, you may not want to do this as it may complicate the issue.

That being said, I would be pissed if I was the seller and my auction has to be relisted again.

I had already informed the seller that it was a genuine mistake, and that too not mine.
but he still went forward and accepted the bids..
so i guess he already knew that the domains weren't worth the 500$ each
i would have happily paid 50$ each or even may be more...
but now i would not like to keep any business relationships with him even if he offers them to me at pennies...

Any ways it it a feeling of great relief to me that i dont have to buy them now
thanks for your input.
as a seller myself, I would never knowingly put others in trouble or not forcefully sell my names to others if they are not happy with it... well everyone wants a price for their domains but if the current buyer doesn't wish to pay so much then just go ahead and sell it to someone else... there are always endusers for good names.

I would love to hear more views and then would give a call to the godaddy team and either pay the fees if i am 100% required too
20$ wont be a loss but i would surely try to save it 1st - What u think? :D

perhaps pay the $20 live and learn , many domainers lose a lot more through mistakes . also maybe set your currency to u.s dollars so it can't change

its a pain in the rear , but i think $20 beats a thousand

well i tried to set the currency to USD as i like it
but it keep changing back to INR... I hope they allow setting it up as USD only through control pannel or something...
already spoke to the representative
Ill make the 20$ payment today and get this done with :D
+ i would have readily accepted if it was my mistake... but 500 rupes (10$) and 500$ has a vast difference..

any ways i +rep'ed eveyone for your contribution
thanks a lot for your input guys...
