Markmonitor purchased a TM name

I found an interesting hand registered purchase Fasebook.com dated Domain Name: fasebook.com -Domain Created on : 27-jan-2012. The registrar shows markmonitor which is known as a Intellectual property driven company - Two questions

1. Markmonitor hand reg this on behalf of Facebook

2. Somebody else hand reg this TM name and acquired by mark monitor sold to Zuck?

We all know this is Infringement.

I think that this domain was regged by facebook, cybersquatters use cheaper registrars

Facebook and Fasebook are both managed by markmonitor. MM does this for brand protection. They reg available typos and variants of trademarks. Sometimes they will buy the typos/variants from domainers if they're already regged, but only if buying seems more prudent than taking legal action for a particular domain.

MM recently bought one of my domains; it was not a trademark infringement and I was using the name legally, but it was close enough to one of their managed brands that they made me a healthy offer and I accepted.
