I'm currently working on a webmaster related auction website for domains, websites, templates, scripts, ebooks, ad space, link space, anything webmaster related.
First, I need to answer the generic "What makes you more special than ebay/other auction sites?" Simple, no listing fees, no final sale fees. It costs nothing to list the auction, and I won't take a percentage of your final sale value.
Now, on to promotion. Here's my horribly detailed plan of action:
1. Find a few people to post some auctions to make the site look active, and credit their account with some money to purchase feature upgrades in the future.
2. Post on all the free advertising/spam sections on every webmaster board possible
3. $9.95 advertise thread at sitepoint
4. $40/$300 banner here at namepros
5. ??? I'VE GOT NO CLUE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. Any suggestions?
