.tv Manchester United bags MU.TV ??

Um so I noticed that the well known Tuvaluan "soccer" club otherwise known as Man Utd FC seems to have bagged MU.TV on the drop this morning? Obviously I know whois records are not always what they seem - maybe someone with a bigger brain/contacts list than me might check this out a little.
If anyone wanted evidence that .tv interests (at least some) corporations then this, my good friends, is surely it.

Dunno about Man U, I despise the club. I do know what my beloved Liverpool FC used liverpoolfc.tv for a pretty long while before redirecting it to the com sometime in 2012 I believe

Hah good catch fer sure ! Yeah I see its changed at whois now. Wonder why they dropped that , even if it was a high renewal Im sure they could have scraped together the cash. Maybe theyll realise the error of their ways and buy it back soon :D

You'll have to ask Verisign The short answer is that there are no guarantees - if they want to reserve a name they can.
