You are confusing TM and copyright. "Money Management" is not trademarked (and would be difficult to do). They do have a "MoneyManagement.com" TM, but that is totally different. And like you said, it isn't available anyway - but you could get the phrase in any other extension with no TM issues. Just wanted to clarify that for you since you posted in another thread about copyrights in relation to TMs as well.. copyright has NO impact on domain names.


As for the domain value, I agree with the others... going to be a tough sell with 3 words and not exactly what everyone is using (only a miserly 70 exact match searches per month on Google). The only thing going for it is the strength of the money industry. I see it as low $xx reseller and low $xxx enduser.

I think It has strong keys: management and money. It wouldn't be the first time that a "3 words" gets a good quotation!

can i just clarify thanks? - trademark is where a name has been protected & you can't use it at all in anything (like google). copyright is where a certain phrase/name has been protected but you can use the individual words again (as in this example where although moneymanagement.com is copyrighted you can register similar names without any prob) am i correct or off the mark?

Sort of, but copyright isn't generally for a phrase or name, but a complete creative work - whether book, website, article, painting, graphic art, etc.


Copying the definitions from Legal Zoom:

Copyright is recommended for: An original creative work (such as a play, novel, song, sculpture, photograph, choreography or architectural plan).

Trademark is recommended for: A name, logo or symbol used to identify commercial goods or services.
