not sure about millions (major players do get the same) but yes thousands is possible via ad-exchange if you a good site with content/uniques potential advertisers will approach you.

Yes you do if you are with a big company. Keep and minnd you have to spend money too.

AdSense is a nice throw-it-up-and-make-money solution, but it depends on your traffic and how valuable that traffic is.

For example, CNBC is one of the lowest rated networks on basic cable, but it's a cash cow for GE/NBC Universal because of the people who watch it (CEOs and other people with gobs of money).

Jerry Springer has pretty good ratings, but it's not that valuable a show since the audience for the show isn't exactly high-class.

So it all depends. It CAN be a good way to make money, but you have to find a good niche and get some decent traffic.

Yes, you can. All you need is a LOT of traffic and high paying keywords/content. Or an enormous amount of traffic and low paying keywords/content will still make you thousands..or millions..

Millions is reachable..there are plenty of people making it.

It also takes money to make money...unless you're really lucky, or have a keen eye, and can find a traffic gem..or a genius at SEO..it can and is being done..

You don't just need alot of traffic.....you need QUALITY traffic, people interested in your site, well targeted audience and those receptive to adverts.

If you can loyal fanbase, quality traffic and large amounts of it...you can make thousands with an affiliate like adsense, targetfirst or tf.
