Hi i was wondering what you think about a domain like

Magnéto , com

Unicode: magnéto
Punycode: xn--magnto-eva
Script: Latin
Language: French
Meaning: magneto (magneto-)

generic french IDN-domain.
The English meaning is magneto. Like in magneto-optical or in french magnétophone (tape recorder).

It may have some other uses in the movie year 2009.

The french AFAIK use more the .com tld than their own .fr.

What do you think?

Honestly rocka I think you're better of registering it as a full term like 'magnéto optique' or even 'disque magnéto optique'. The thing you have to ask yourself is how likely is someone to type in just magnéto (I'm assuming of course that you are looking for type-in traffic)? The other thing is what specific market would magnéto fit for targeted advertising?

Thanks for the response, domain_trader! I ++ your reps.

The thing is, magnéto on it's own is a noun meaning "magnetic fuze/igniter" or "magneto ignitition motor"..
then it's a preverb like I've described in my first post.
Also magnéto is short for magnétophone..
Imho having so many uses it has value as a 'name only'.

Here comes the interesting part: aside from being a generic term, the french also use it exactly in this spelling to name a very well-known super-villain who will have his own movie next year :hehe:

here are the 1Mio french göögle's results for magnéto:

Ah yes, I can see that it is a spin off from X-Men. Now that's the sort of thing that can turn a mediocre term into e-gold. Let's hope that the movie is a monster hit. Yes, I think it was definitely worth registering :kickass:
